In all plans, we will charge for file conversion (Ksh 10 per file - no mimimum charges) and advanced text extraction (Ksh 0.5 per page - a minimum charge of Ksh 2).

Advanced text extraction using machine learning, commonly OCR, is only applied to PDF files that text can't be extracted directly. Those files include scanned PDF documents and PDF documents containing many scanned sections and images. Simply, all the files with many sections you can't search for words or highlight the text in a PDF viewer need advanced text extraction.

To lower costs:

1. Upload PDF files whenever possible, as they are more cost-effective to process.
2. If you have DOCX or PPTX files, convert them to PDF format before uploading.
3. For scanned PDFs that require advanced text extraction, consider typing out the content and converting it into a searchable PDF or using an OCR service before uploading if you have external access to the file.
